Those looking for a good scare during this Halloween season should look no further than the town of Hill, NH. On October 17, 6:30~8:30 PM (rain date 10/24), the Friends of Hill Parks & Rec. and the Tapply-Thompson Community Center of Bristol will hold the 8th Annual Haunted Hayride at Old Hill Village. Come hitch a spooky ride through a real ghost town! While waiting for your wagon, stay warm by the bonfire and chat with friends and neighbors or enjoy the festive tunes by DJ Chuck Noel. Chili, burgers, and other ghoulish treats will be available. The cost of the hayride is $5 a person; first come, first scared. All proceeds will benefit the programming of both Hill Parks & Rec. and the TTCC. For more information, please call 744-2713.
When traveling along Rte. 3A in Hill toward Bristol, you may have noticed the “Haunted House” that seems to appear every October. This would be the home of Barbara and Bruce Perkins. For the past nine years, the Perkins have transformed their residence into a Halloween haven. And according to the locals, it gets bigger and spookier with time. The autumn holiday is actually a special one for the couple; October 31 marks their wedding anniversary!
“The House in Haunted Hill!”, 248 Rte. 3A, Hill, NH, is open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings during the month of October. The cost of admission is $5 for adults, and $3 for kids 8 & under. On Saturday, October 24, 6~11 PM, the Perkins have generously offered to hold a fundraiser for Gary and Jeannine David of Hill. All admission fees collected that night will be used to purchase prepaid debit cards for the Davids to use on their journey back home. For more information, please call Barbara at 934-7387.
For those readers of this post who do not know the David family, they as well are a generous couple who have volunteered countless hours, in various capacities, to benefit the town of Hill. In December of 2008, Jeannine was seriously injured in a car accident that occurred during a winter storm. Please join us on October 24th in support of Gary and Jeannine!
