As we strive to build a better collection for our youngest patrons, once again the library will be holding an Adopt-a-Book program. The books available for adoption are hardcover, non-fiction titles with durable library bindings. The cost to adopt a book varies between $15 and $25. HPL’s Adopt-a-Book program is the perfect opportunity to honor a special occasion, family member, or friend with a commemorative bookplate. Remember, a book is a gift that can be opened again and again…..
The Adopt-a-Book campaign kicks off during Banned Books Week, with “Band & Books!” scheduled for Sunday, September 25 at 1:00 PM. The event takes place at the Skip Wallace Pavilion (by the pond) and will include:
- Performance by the young and very talented Long Tail Monkeys
- Book Sale
- Homemade Chili & Baked goods (donations are welcome!)
- Quality children’s books awaiting adoption
Join us for this free and fun event sponsored by Friends of Hill Parks & Rec. and Friends of the Hill Public Library.
