HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
The holidays are behind us and winter is in full swing! Please take note of a few schedule changes:
- There will be no Book Club meeting in January. The group will be discussing Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng on February 20. Copies will be available soon!
- Dewey’s Coffee Cafe will be “closed” for the winter season. This program will pick up again on March 20,2018
- There will be no Board of Trustees January meeting. Next meeting: February 6 at 2:30 PM
In the event of bad weather, library closings will now be posted to WMUR-TV’s Storm Ticker and website. Winter is the perfect time to check out the New Hampshire Downloadable Books Consortium. Call us today for your card number and you’ll be able to browse and download eBooks from the warmth and comfort of home!
Remember the Magic of Christmas, and believe in Santa again……
Please join us for a night of fun! We will make an ornament related to The Polar Express, followed by a viewing of the movie! Enjoy a snack of fresh popcorn and hot cocoa! Please feel free to come in your pajamas and bring a small blanket to cozy up with during the movie. There could very well be a special guest dropping by….Do you believe?
Parents are welcomed to stay, however it is not necessary. Feel free to drop off the kiddos and enjoy a dinner out or a bit of child-free shopping!
We are excited to welcome WMUR meteorologist Josh Judge on Tuesday, November 28 at 11:00 am. Josh recently released a new children’s book, Be Nice to the Weather Guy: A New England Christmas Story, just in time for the holiday season. Join us for a reading by the author, lively weather conversation, and a visit from Santa! There will be books available for purchase and signing, with all profits being donated to the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. A luncheon buffet will be served.
Come meet the weather guy!
Every Tuesday the library hosts “Dewey’s Coffee Cafe” from 10:00 am to Noon. We invite you to arrive early on November 28 for coffee with friends and neighbors. For more information about this event, please call 934-9712.
Please join us on Friday, October 27 at 3:00 PM for a live animal show presented by the Wildlife Encounters Ecology Center. Come get a close-up look and learn about some amazing animals!
This program is free and all are welcome.
Beginning Sept 14, 2017, Thursdays at 5 PM, we will meet, get weighed, and talk about how to eat better, find an eating program that will work for each individual, figure out what each individual needs to fit weight loss and/or healthy eating into his or her life. This is NOT a “ladies’ only meeting”; nor is it specifically a weight loss group. We are planning a private weigh-in for about 20 minutes before a weekly meeting of about 30 minutes. Those who come late will need to weigh after the meeting is completed.
Barbara Libby, a former Weight Watchers leader of ten years experience, and Lisa Seymour, formerly a TOPS member, will facilitate the meetings. This group is not affiliated with Weight Watchers, TOPS, or any designated program group. Neither Barbara nor Lisa are registered dietitians. The purpose of the meetings is to share information, techniques, recipes, encouragement and support in regard to weight management.
If you are interested, have questions, or are ready to begin, please RSVP Barbara Libby at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 744-6154. That first meeting will be organizational in content so attendance is especially important.
Summer is finally here and things are heating up at your library! “Build A Better World”, our 2017 Summer Reading Program kicks off July 12 with a comical/magical performance by Daniel Jolley. Check out our SRP page for a complete schedule of all the fun we have planned.
We’re also kicking off a new adult program this Summer…All are welcome…please share with your neighbors. We are looking forward to seeing old friends as well as meeting new ones!
