Summer Reading Program

2019 Summer Program: A Universe of Stories

  • Wednesday ~ 7/10 ~ 1 PM:  ScienceTellers presents, “Aliens: An Out-of-This-World Adventure”- During a midnight meteor shower, something mysterious falls from the sky toward Earth- but it’s not a shooting star. Two kids venture out to investigate and soon find themselves mixed up with a family of visitors from another planet!  Trapped by a crazy space scientist, they must risk everything to rescue the aliens and get them back to their ship — before it’s too late!  Throughout the intergalactic story, volunteers from the audience will get to discover the unbelievable world of science through experiments and demonstrations with chemical reactions, polymers, pressure, inertia, energy, explosions and so much more! Don’t miss this action-packed and educational alien adventure. It’s totally out of this world!

  • Tuesday ~ 7/23 ~ 1 PM:  Wild About Turtles!- Who was FIRST in the race to moon?  Well…TURTLE, of course, the Russian Tortoise, to be exact, on September 14, 1968.  This program is all about music and movement, storytelling and hands-on art all led by educator, Mary Doane, the “turtle lady.” We’ll also get to visit with live turtles.

Turtles Are Out Of This World!

  • Thursday ~ 8/08 ~ 1 PM:  Boston Museum of Science Traveling  Program “Night Sky”- Discover which stars, planets, and other astronomical wonders are visible this evening.  Using our portable planetarium, we take you on a tour of the solar system and beyond, and provide useful tips on how you can navigate the night sky from your own backyard.  Space is limited!  Call or email to reserve seating.

Unless noted otherwise, all programs are free and registration is not required.  Please give us a call at 934-9712 for more information on our schedule of events.
